Here I have included a selection of Flash projects and experiments demonstrating my knowledge of ActionScript and the Flash environment. Please be patient in waiting for these files to load as some are without preloaders.
CatPaint Website Prototype
Before producing this PHP/HTML based portfolio website, I had planned to produce a more interactive website entirely within Adobe Flash. After developing sections of this site however, I decided that the illustration work and general theme of the site were poor. This in turn led to a redesign.
Some of the technical examples this protoype demonstrates are drag-and-drop puzzles with 'hit boxes', XML integration (blog section takes information from my own blog, scrawlthere.blogspot.com) and dynamic image loading (again taken from XML data).
Rat Attack! - A Promotional Maze Game
Rat Attack is a small promotional maze game I produced as part of a larger project whilst studying ND Multimedia Design.
Rat Attack! Displays common game elements such as collision detection, timer baser gameplay and character control via user input.
Mr T's Chocolate Chopper Challenge
MR T's Chocolate Chopper Challenge is a technical experiment I produced whilst learning to create simple physics based games.
Mr T's Chocolate Chopper Challenge demonstrates simple physics, control via user input, score and an increasing level of difficulty.
Elevator Interface
This is an interface I produced as part of a larger project whilst studying ND Multimedia Design. The project centred around producing an interface to be used by a predetermined target audience (mine being ages 10-16). I decided to use the elevator as a menu and transitional element between scenes, displaying information in each scene via interactive elements.
Technically, this interface incorporates a preloader and demonstrates the loading of external sound files (mp3).
In future I would like to continue the development of my Flash skills by producing arcade style games and experimenting with online score boards and social media intergration.
